New O.S. Giken Forged Pistons.

These picture show the new forged pistons on the standard rods. I will be using the standard rods for this build-up. These Rods are much shorter and stronger than the "D" series engines. I have spoken to may of my contact's in Japan and they tell me many 500Hp B16A turbo race engines still use the standard Honda rods. I am told the standard rods will be ok, as long as you are careful when tuning. If the engine pings badly during turning on the dyno the standard rods will bend, But then again your big end bearings will be squashed anyway and ALL third party rods will inevitably bend sooner or later if your engine is pinging badly.

These Pistons were custom made to my specifications, I requested a CR of 9.0:1 when using standard Honda B16A rods. Don't ask how much they cost me, Lets just say more than most would want to pay, and a lot more than most Forged Pistons from the U.S. But you always get what you pay for.

Call me mad (especially when my "D" series engine snapped a rod), But I am confident in what my contact's have told me.

Below is some pictures of my new forged pistons with my old "B" series rods. ready to go into the new engine.

BTW: These Piston's are 10thou oversized. So I can bore my old B16A block nice and straight.

Above: An old worn Piston from some other B16A engine just for comparison.
