Full Engine Buildup\Specs.
So I have the new forged pistons. Now I need to get the old Head re-built. This time I have decided to use some new JDM Civic Type R Cams and valve springs. I want this engine to rev to 9000rpm without any problems. Here is the list of parts used in the stock B16A Series 1 engine.
New O.S. Giken Forged Pistons. (CR 9.0:1)
New JDM Spec. Civic Type R Cams.
New JDM Spec. Civic Type R valve springs.
New Civic JDM Spec.Type R Intake manifold.
New Type R Fuel rail.
New B16A Throttle body. (BTW: The S2000 throttle body gasket fit's perfectly. The S2000 must use the same throttle body as modern B16A. )
New bearings throughout the engine. (Not that they were needed, the old ones were in very good shape, But while the whole engine is apart it is a wise thing to do.)
New water pump. (again not that it was needed, the old one was in very good shape, But while the whole engine is apart it is a wise thing to do.)
Old Block cleaned out and bored for the new Forged pistons.
The whole head was cleaned up, very slightly ported and the combustion chamber roof was cleaned up. All rough edges in the combustion chamber were cleaned up. (This last step helps keep detonation at bay.)
New valve guides and the new Civic Type R Valve springs installed.
Modified Dizzy for external coil.
The old crank was cleaned up and checked for cracks etc.
New Civic Type R intake manifold polished, 550cc RC Injectors, new series 2 B16A fuel rail and throttle body.
Close up of RC Engineering 550cc Plate type injector. (Plate type injector's handle more fuel pressure.)
New JDM Civic Type R Cam's without cam sprocket. Check out the huge cam lobe on the right hand side compared with the left.
The cleaned up head B16A1 head. Look's nice.
Check out the cleaned up head below see how all the chambers have been smoothed out. This helps to protect against detonation.
Some slight porting work on the head.
New Integra Type R B16A Rocker cover.
New Engine installed in the CRX. Mmnm Nice.
