This is what happens when you get too greedy and try to get more power out of the engine. I had just installed a new Microtech MT-8 computer into the car and wired it up for full sequential fire and re tuned it for more power and then this happened.

As you can see in the Picture above, the engine snapped a rod. Bang, A hone in the front of the block a hole in the back of the block and 3 holes in the sump. Engine KAPUTT.

Take a look the the left most rod. You can see it's bent. That rod was ready to break next. The one on the right totally snapped in half and then smashed into the piston hundreds of times. The car was only doing about 5000RPM when this happened.

The moal of the story is to stay with the limits of your engine. I knew the limit was around 250HP @ Flywheel. But I couldn't help it... I had to get more power.

My next engine will have strong pistons and rods in it. Maybe a "B" series V-tec next time. It's a much stronger engine.
